What the heck is The Narcofod?
The Narcofod is an interstellar spaceship hurtling through interstellar space on an interstellar mission. If you’re on this site, you’re aboard. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. Where are we headed? What’s our mission? Only the mysterious Captain Narcofod knows for sure, and she isn’t saying. Fortunately for us, there’s lots of rooms to explore and they’re brimming with art and literature. So there’s no need to get bored. That’s the long answer. The short answer is that it’s a fictional construct that sets the “mood” for this site.

What’s with all those boxes I see when I hover my mouse over the header image?
What you’re glimpsing — you lucky dog — are the many rooms aboard The Narcofod. It is rumored that someday soon these will be clickable, gaining you access to these rooms. When that day comes, it would be greatly appreciated if you wiped your feet before entering.

Would it be possible to get paid for listening to this stuff?
Sorry, but “free” is as much as Gary W Shockley can offer at the present time. If at some point in the future he wins the lottery or robs a bank (to retrieve the money rightfully his), the situation could change and listeners could indeed be paid for their efforts. However, it is not recommended that you hold your breath.
